On September 24, the 9th Hubei Primary Education Student Skills Competition was held in Hanjiang Normal University. Competing with more than 320 contestants from 24 universities in Hubei Province on the same stage, including Huazhong Normal University, Hubei Normal University, Hubei Second Normal College and Hanjiang Normal College, the School of Education of SCMZU won the first prize though it was their first participation.
The competition includes classroom teaching, impromptu speech, teaching courseware design, three kinds of handwritings, stick figures and comprehensive skills. 10 students from the School of Education, including two postgraduates, performed well in the competition. Zhu Fang and He Zhujun respectively won the first prize and third prize in the postgraduate group of comprehensive skills. Ji Xiang and Li Hongye won the third prize in the undergraduate group of three kinds of handwriting and teaching courseware design. Hu Liyao, Pei Xu, Xiong Qian, Xiang Yufa, Deng Jingwen and Li Qiao won the excellent prize in the undergraduate group.
The School of Education set up a working group composed of experts to give comprehensive support to the contestants. Sponsored by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education and organized by the Primary Education Professional Committee of the Provincial Education Society and Hanjiang Teachers’ College, the competition was the most influential skill competition in Hubei Province for teacher-training students in primary education, which plays an important role in promoting the professional skills of primary education majors.
