        The 3rd Works Exhibition of the Nation Tide Ethnic Non Heritage Cultural Creativity Competition Opens

        The 3rd Works Exhibition of the Nation Tide Ethnic Non Heritage Cultural Creativity Competition opened at the Optical Valley Art Museum on the morning of November 25.


        The Nation Tide Ethnic Non Heritage Cultural Creativity Competition initiated in 2020, while this year it received nearly 400 pieces of works from students of different schools. The competition invited experts including Professor Ye Youtian from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts, Associate Professor Hou Haozhi from the Chinese Culture University of Taiwan, Associate Professor Liu Yi from Central China Normal University and retired teacher Shen Songde from SCMZU were invited to be the judges of visual design category, art creation category, digital media category, handicraft creation category and space design category. A total of 225 works were selected, including 7 first-class awards, 15 second-class awards, 29 third-class awards, 53 honorable awards and 121 entry awards.


        Hosted by Pan Jun, vice president of the School of Art and Design, the opening ceremony was attended by Bai Jiangyuan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, the heads of the School of Mass Entrepreneurship and the School of Art and Design, representatives of the winners and their instructors.


        In his speech, Pan Zejiang, president of the School of Mass Entrepreneurship, emphasized the importance of innovation in the new era, based on which he encouraged the students to strengthen their cultural awareness and confidence while giving full play to their creativity.


        Wu Haiguang, president of the School of Art and Design, delivered a speech as well, expressing his expectation that the event would strengthen the integration of in-class teaching and extra-curricular innovation, so as to improve the aesthetic quality and cultivate cultural sentiment of college students.


        Bai Jiangyuan announced the opening of the 3rd Works Exhibition of the Nation Tide Ethnic Non Heritage Cultural Creativity Competition.


        The leaders and guests present awarded honorary certificates to the winners and their instructors. Dong Mengfang, a winner of the painting major, said that she would strive to propel the nation tide forward and contribute to the construction of cultural confidence.


        After the opening ceremony, the creative bazaar began, where students and teachers wondered with great interest.  


        The creative bazaar is one of the highlights of this year’s competition with 16 groups of projects exhibited. Products are designed around Chinese intangible cultural heritage, national and folk traditional handicrafts, zodiac culture and other traditional Chinese cultural elements. In the bazaar, the authors and teams introduce their works to the audience on site and witness the process of their products from birth to trade.

        The exhibition of the project achievements of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students is a new section of the competition, aiming to share the process and results of the projects with teachers and students on campus. The exhibition will last until December 11. The venue is in the No.1 and No. 2 Exhibition Hall of Optical Valley Art Museum. The Bazaar will be held in the square inside the Optical Valley Art Museum for 3 days.
