On December 20, the first annual board meeting of Confucius Classroom at Verona Area International School in Wisconsin, USA was held in SCMZU. Hosted by Vice President Duan Chao, the meeting was attended by Sally Parker, the principal of Verona International School in Wisconsin, Teresa Mule and Kong Jiemin, the co-chairman of the school management committee. The meeting was also attended by Li Jinlin, the President of SCMZU, and heads of relevant functional departments.
At the meeting, Sally Parker reported the work summary of Confucius Classroom in 2022, the final account of funding, the work plan and budget for 2023. Li Jinlin showed his appreciation and expectation to the achievements and development of immersive Chinese language teaching in Confucius Classroom, which catered for the law of learning at lower age levels. Duan said that SCMZU will continue to provide comprehensive support for the development of Confucius Classroom in the next year. Sally Parker expressed her pleasure to cooperate with SCMZU and gratitude for SCMZU’s strong support to the Confucius Classroom. They conclude the meeting by solving problems of teachers shortage in Confucius Classroom and other issues .
SCMZU has been providing strong support for the teaching of Chinese language and the development of Chinese cultural experience activities in the Confucius Classrooms since the cooperation with Verona Regional International School in 2021, which enjoyed a great popularity among the local residents.
